Students attending the Wanipigow Adult Learning Centre have been learning about the drum, protocol, and teachings this year. Initially making the drums with Melissa Paypompee and Nova Courchene, then making the drumsticks with Jaime Grasby and now painting the drums with artist Shawna Grapentine.
The care, learning, stories, and representation are now reflected in these symbols of mino bimaadiziwin (living in balance/the good life) that they will carry in their lifelong journey.
Thank you Joy and all the students for putting your time, care, and heart into this important and beautiful work.
